Listing details for 1225 S St NW, Washington, DC 20009 : Welcome to 1225 S St. NW, at the intersection of modern luxury and sustainability. This eco-home greets you with the first of three beautiful outdoor spaces: a deep vegetable garden with herbs leading to a flagstone patio shaded and hidden by a magnificent and mature weeping cherry. Cross the threshold under the neon 1225 created by renowned artist Craig Kraft and into a surprisingly and smartly designed modern interior framed by a Victorian shell. The main level features a true open floor plan, allowing light and cross ventilation, to reduce electric usage. The front houses a picture perfect seating area, with bay window seating shielded by the mature junipers. Fashionable under stair storage and a powder room lead you to the directly combined dining and living area, complete with reclaimed oak table and countertops, luxury appliances, a hidden pantry, and a custom art-gallery system to border it all. A bonus area continues the path to the second outdoor space, a brick patio with Dero bike racks, pegboard storage, a side garden with a maple tree, and room for a car. Upstairs, you will find three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, with beautiful views to the outdoor spaces. The generous bedrooms are accented by the bright Fitzfelt closet doors and Elfa systems. Tiles in the elegant bathrooms are not marble, but recycled glass. The main suite is completed by a private deck, the perfect bucolic getaway in the heart of the city and overlooking DC history. Make this sustainable home yours, and help do your part for planet Earth, all while living luxuriously in Logan. Inquire for more details of all the eco features, or to set up a private tour.
