Ford, was the cashier and director of the National Bank of Fairfax and younger brother of Antonia Ford, the celebrated Confederate spy. Ford built a showplace here with the Fairfax Herald announcing his "handsome residence" nearly complete in June 1900. When he died suddenly in 1904, his widow sold the estate to F. W. Richardson, the county clerk of court, for $11,000.
