Listing details for 16001 Nottingham Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 : For 26 years, the owner of this rural cottage, a former architect, has renovated it, remodeled it, and had additions built, making it into a magazine-worthy residence (only 27 miles to the Capitol!) where rustic meets sleek contemporary in its interior design and materials. Outside, it s clad in weathered cedar shingles and topped by a green metal roof. On the back, there s a large screen porch. The farmland makes it a quiet retreat for full-time living or as a weekend getaway, secure and serene all four seasons. Three meadows drop off into a ravine, with your own creek and a gentle waterfall. Cross a footbridge, and you re into your deep woods. In fact, there are woods on all four sides of the farm s almost 11 acres half with the cottage and enormous tobacco barn, and the other half deeded separately, perked, ready to build your next dream house on. Or just leave the property the way it looks and the way it looked when the whole farm was tobacco land rolling, loamy, trouble-free fields of hay and wildflowers.
